Snowshoeing in Interlaken (Guided Half-Day Tour)

3 hours

Easy

Snowshoeing in Switzerland hits that sweet spot as an accessible winter adventure that gets you somewhere spectacular. No skiing lessons are needed, no technical mountaineering skills, just strap on snowshoes and enjoy the winter adventure. We hike about 200 meters of vertical elevation, which is a comfortably balanced amount. This region is home to three of Switzerland's most iconic 4000-meter peaks: the legendary Eiger North Face, Mönch, and Jungfrau. No previous snowshoe or winter hiking experience is required, and an average fitness level is enough.

For whom do we recommend the snowshoe tour:

If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Most people feel comfortable after about five minutes.

We’ve taken everyone from teenagers to grandparents on these tours, and it works for all kinds of fitness levels. Unlike skiing, there’s nothing complicated; just strap in and start walking. Whether you’re coming as a family, with friends, or solo, you’re most welcome.

Meeting Points, getting there, start times:

The meeting points are either central locations or main train stations to keep things simple. They are the following:

  • Interlaken West or East train station in the waiting-pickup area
  • Matten bei Interlaken in front of Mattenhof Hotel.
  • There is a parking area next to the hotel called Eissportcentrum if needed.  From there, we drive you to the location, get you fitted with gear, do a quick safety chat, and then head out for our tour.

Why Choose Us?

  • We keep groups small, so your guide gets to know everyone and guests often become friends. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your future significant other during one of our tours…
  • There’s no long waiting time due to a large group.
  • We can easily adapt the snowshoe route to your interests and fitness level.
  • Our guides are outdoor professionals with first aid training and years of experience in the Swiss Alps. Our tours are SAFE and FUN!
  • The pace is relaxed with regular breaks for hot drinks and photos.

The snowshoeing tour is about enjoying the Swiss Alps and nature. And not about challenging ourselves e.g. by racing through the whole tour.
